Anthony J. Allen, a retired Chartered Accountant, is the proprietor and Managing Director of Allen's Antiques Ltd, New Zealand's largest specialist dealer in Chinese antiques, and probably the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. In the process of finally retiring from the antiques business, he has trained his younger daughter Kelly to take over the reins. Kelly juggles running the business part-time and looking after her twin boys, who were born in February 2004.

"In January 1999, after fourteen years of successful trading, we started to concentrate on the internet marketing of our core products, antique Chinese ceramics, bronzes and works of art. 98% of our stocks are exported worldwide.

We have a policy of absolute honesty in all our dealings so our customers can buy with confidence.

Until January of 2004 it was our policy to offer a 180 day warranty with almost every item sold. This gave the buyer sufficient time to undertake their own research, or to have their purchases independently appraised or scientifically tested. 
However, as from 1 January 2004, such is our level of confidence of the items that we sell, every Chinese antique item sold is offered with a lifetime warranty that it is of the age and/or period stated. For a small additional charge, we will provide a non-transferable Certificate of Authenticity for the lifetime that our customer owns the item."
